Renewable Energy Expense Calculator - User Guide
The Renewable Energy Expense Calculator is a web-based tool designed to help you track and calculate expenses for various renewable energy projects. This guide will walk you through all the features and functionality of the calculator.
Overview
The calculator is divided into two main sections:
- Capital Expenditures (CapEx) - One-time costs for setting up your renewable energy projects
- Operating Expenses (OpEx) - Ongoing costs for maintaining and operating your systems
Getting Started
1. Entering Expenses
- Locate the expense category you want to update (Solar, Wind, Hydro, etc.)
- Click on the input field next to the expense item
- Type in the amount (in dollars) for that expense
- The calculator will automatically update subtotals and totals as you enter values
2. Calculating Totals
- The calculator updates automatically as you enter values
- You can also click the "Calculate Totals" button to refresh all calculations
- The results will appear at the bottom of the page:
- CapEx Total: Sum of all capital expenditures
- OpEx Total: Sum of all operating expenses
- Net Total: Combined total of all expenses
3. Resetting Values
- To clear all entered values, click the "Reset Values" button
- A confirmation dialog will appear to prevent accidental resets
- All values will be set to $0.00 after confirmation
4. Printing Reports
- Click the "Print Report" button to generate a printer-friendly version
- The print view hides buttons and formats the content for paper
- Use your browser's print dialog to save as PDF or print on paper
